Aim for a hole-in-one at the Golden Golf Club for FREE mini-golf!
Please note that the following roads will be impacted by Canada Day events: 9th Avenue North, 5th Street North, 11th Avenue South. Active transportation options like walking or biking is encouraged!
Make a splash at the Golden Swimming Pool on Canada Day with public swim times available from noon to 5 p.m. Register to save your spot at https://bit.ly/2WCl9r8
Fireworks will not be a part of this year’s Canada Day events in Golden. This decision was made proactively based on the annual risks of wildfire (we typically book fireworks and a technician many months in advance), as well as feedback received from the community about the impact of fireworks on pets and wildlife.Canada Day is also a day for us to reflect on what it means to be Canadian. This includes educating ourselves and reflecting on the story of Canada and what that means for Indigenous peoples. Here are some resources to learn more about Canada’s history:History of Canada: http://www.canada.ca/.../can.../services/history-canada.htmlIndigenous History: http://www.canada.ca/.../history.../indigenous-history.htmLearn about the Truth and Reconciliation Commission Calls to Action: https://bit.ly/3wKDOhJNational Centre for Truth and Reconciliation: https://nctr.ca
