This is such an incredible campground!! Our site was right on the beautiful kicking horse river with mountains in view. You’re also right in town, but surrounded by nature. Best of both worlds. The bathroom facilities are very clean and the service is great. We had a fabulous stay here and would absolutely stay again. We like watching the trains go by, and while they were louder at night than during the day which was unfortunate, they didn’t bother us too much!

Access & Usage

  • No Day Use Policy: Day use is restricted, except for access to the Sani Dump and the Convenience Store.

  • Sani Dump Pass: Available for purchase online or through an on-site drop box for non-registered guests.

Free Showers

We have two sets of hot showers for our campers one located in our main office building. The other is located in the campground please see map. Door code required

Laundry

Coin operated laundry is available on site 24 hours a day. Only takes Loonies (dollar coins) so plan accordingly. Change Machine is not on site Door code required

Free Wi-Fi (service is not guaranteed)

We have 3 internet services 2 near our office and one near the rear Wash house. (disclaimer: Wi-Fi service is not guaranteed due to number of people using it or weather as it needs line of site of tower) Golden Municipal Campground Operators realize this is important and we are exhausting all avenues to try to rectify this. our appologies.

Fire Pits

Every Site has a Fire Pit all Campers must adhere to BC and Municipal Fire Regulations. Fire Permit is Required free with Purchase of Firewood. Firewood is $10 a Bundle. If you bring your own Firewood you will be required to purchase a Fire Permit. See Campground Attendant

Bike and Walking Trail

Golden Municipal Campground is surrounded by the Golden Rotary Trails. You can access these trails from rear of our campground at two trail heads.

Train Spotting

Golden Municipal Campground and RV Park resides along the Majestic Kicking Horse River . Across the river from us is the Canadian Pacific Railway. If you are a Train Spotting Enthusiast you will enjoy the River Sites. If you are a light sleeper we would suggest to keep this in consideration. Bring a White noise Machine or Ear plugs.

Golden Municipal Campground Cancellation Policy


Evacuation Alert Policy (LOCAL WILDFIRE POLICY)
In the event that the Golden Municipal Campground is placed under an Evacuation Alert, you will be fully refunded for your site minus a minimal 4.9% property charge to cover the cost of credit card fees and software fees.
Standard Cancellation Policy
  • Cancellation or Changes: You must cancel or make changes at least 48 hours prior to the date of arrival to avoid losing the remainder of your payment.
  • No-Show Policy: If you fail to arrive on your arrival date without informing the office of changes to your arrival, your site will be released.
Cancellation Fees
  • For stays of one night: $20 fee to cancel.
  • For stays of more than one night: One night site fee (based on the rate of the site you booked).
Early Departures
  • There are no refunds for early departures.
Agreement to Terms
By booking, you agree to these terms. We highly suggest purchasing travel insurance that reimburses you for changes and cancellations, as our cancellation policy is non-negotiable.
Exceptions
There are no exceptions for cancellations or changes due to:
  • Breakdowns
  • Weather
  • COVID-19 or any illness or injury
  • Forest fires
  • Road closures
If the Golden Municipal Campground is mandated by the province or municipality to cancel your reservation, you will be reimbursed. You must agree to this policy prior to booking.
